New products coming soon!

June 4th, 2009

I’ve been busy creating the master patterns for five new kits that should be ready by the end of June. The first to be available will be DP5, “Factory Ruins”, a great looking three story brick building that features arched doorways and a cast second floor that would be a great place to pose a sniper. Next up will be DP12, “Three Story apartment”. This kit is based on a contemporary apartment in Baghdad, Iraq. IMO it would also look right if used with other scenes set from the mid 1950’s to the present.

I’m also doing a small French Bakery (undamaged) and a couple of smaller pieces (“Last Stand” & “To Trains”) that will include a base. I hope to have photos of the┬ánew kits loaded in the next two weeks. Stay tuned!

    Hey Randy,
    I hope all is well.
This is Nick From Battle Scene Productions and I Just received your Newsletter with your latest building and it’s another winner.
I have a question for you. I build most of my buildings from Commercial grade Styrofoam, carve, paint and seal each one. I started making a few Latex molds for various small items. I have been using Plaster of Paris but I find that it breaks too easily. I ordered Hydrocal a couple of days ago to replace the Plaster of Paris because I heard that it is more durable and the objects come out finer.
My question is, what do you use to make the original building?
I’m looking for more durable ways to make my buildings. My creations tend to be filled with a lot of bomb damage and debris which is impossible to make a mold from.
Someone of one of the toy soldier forums nicknamed me, “Master of Destruction”. LOL
I just finished a 1:35 scale Stalingrad factory with tons of debris. If you are interested in the diorama I can send you a few photos of it.
Thanks for your time and patience Randy.
    Take care

I’m into doing Dioram’s, but have a hard time getting figures for the dioram, and some tall grass. I like doing the VIETNAM Series. Can you give any suggestions as to where I can obtain some of these material or figures. We have limited supply here in Canada. Sometimes not very good choices. Any info would be appreciated Thanks

    Regards

    Paul
